Remote or Full-time position in Carbondale, Colorado on Western Slope

(Roaring Fork Valley - Glenwood Springs to Aspen)

$120,000 - $160,000 annual salary + excellent benefits & flexibility

We currently support the Western Slope of Colorado, including Carbondale, Aspen, Snowmass Village, Basalt, Glenwood Springs, Ouray, Ridgway, Telluride, Gypsum, Eagle, Avon, Vail, Gunnison & Crested Butte.

Base Qualifications:

  • B.S. and/or M.S. in Architectural, Civil or Structural Engineering

  • PE/SE license in CO or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 60 days

  • 12+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer designing wood, steel, concrete, masonry & other materials

  • Proficiency with structural engineering principles & applicable building/design codes

  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA, Dlubal, Enercalc, etc.

  • Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit and/or Archicad, or desire to learn & utilize the basics to optimize production

  • Experience with the assessment, renovation and repair of existing structures

 

Structural Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with clients, architects, contractors, and project team members while fostering strong professional relationships within the community

  • Engineer and oversee the structural design of wood, steel, concrete, masonry, and unique building assemblies, ensuring quality and innovation

  • Utilize and supervise the use of current engineering technologies, software tools, and building/design codes for efficient, clear documentation and calculations

  • Provide excellent construction administration through field observations, formal reporting, and proactive project oversight

  • Manage, mentor, and train engineering teams, including engineers and drafter/modelers, to support professional growth and project success

  • Stay current with updated building codes and industry standards, and demonstrate ethical, professional conduct

  • Live and thrive in a Colorado mountain resort community, contributing thoughtfully to both the team and local environment

 

Additional Experience of Interest (not required):

  • Sustainable design

  • Advanced BIM experience

  • PE/SE licenses in additional states
