Youth Art Park

Carbondale, Colorado

Carbondale’s Youth Art Park (YAP) builds upon the tradition of Carbondale’s Rio Grande ARTway by offering a creative play experience for all kids, families and visitors.  It has been developed in partnership between Great Outdoors Colorado, Carbondale Arts, the Roaring Fork Transit Authority and the Town of Carbondale.  The YAP will be a multi-phase project with a combination of active and passive play elements located along the Rio Grande trail corridor that aims to “engage our youth in a series of timeless activities that merge creative play, art and social engagement.” It will be embellished with a variety of unique work from local artists.

Structurally, the park features cast-in-place retaining wall that will server as a climbing wall; custom freestanding photovoltaic shade structures; cast in place concrete art wall and post foundations for timber totems.

The Youth Art Park is a non-profit project completed together with re:LAND and Summer Hill Partners
